VARO has entered a four-year partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Defence to supply a lower-carbon fuel blend — 30% Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) mixed with 70% conventional diesel — across the Ministry’s full range of assets.

The agreement highlights the role of VARO as a reliable energy partner capable of delivering at scale to one of the country’s most critical institutions. With the delivery of HVO30 helping to reduce CO₂ emissions, the partnership connects energy and defence security — ensuring dependable energy supply while supporting measurable progress toward lower-carbon solutions.

As part of Europe’s critical energy infrastructure, VARO’s refining, storage, and logistics operations provide the scale and reliability which is essential to ensuring a secure and stable energy system.  The partnership also reflects VARO’s long-term investment and commitment to the Netherlands and the wider region, strengthening energy resilience to keep societies running.
